Assignment:

Muller Design Co was hired to furnish a repeat client’s new home by shopping and sourcing interesting and comfortable pieces for their beautiful retirement home.

Style:

Client loves metals, abstract art, interesting lines and texture. Also wants practical pieces. Loves grays, deep blue and golds.

Wishlist:

Keep little very existing furniture and add the major upholstery and accessories. This is a fresh start for the client.

Scope:

Provide design time to strategize and shop for furnishings, accessories, rugs, art, and finishing touches and oversee final placement of all items.

Timeframe:

4 weeks, sourcing local and semi-local furniture and accessories.

Budget:

$35,000-40,000 and design team time.

The Details

Our finding of gorgeous wool rugs inspired the rest of the palette. The green-gray wall color was existing (the builder messed up a little, but we all were in love with the color!). So the wall color drove the soft greens and browns in the rugs. They all have a very different personality, but from room to room, they just flow.

Notes:

Great resources were utilized like Basset custom order upholstery, Sherwin Williams Paint, many designer accessories and mirrors, faux plants, and Greenfront Furniture for ready-to-go items and their gorgeous rugs. Muller Design staff did all of the online and in-store shopping, and hands-on staging of items.
